Control brawlers in Brawl Stars

Holds space with zones and area damage; weak to tanks and assassins. Here's how Smart Draft defines the control role, how the draft assistant uses it, and every brawler who plays it.

What a control brawler does

Control brawlers shape the fight with area damage, slows and zones the enemy has to respect. They're good at holding space and punishing groups, but vulnerable to brawlers who reach them.

In Smart Draft's model, tanks and assassins both beat control, and throwers can pressure control brawlers from behind walls. Three control brawlers on one team is a warning sign: the assistant treats it as the perfect moment for an assassin.

Some control brawlers are harder to punish than others. The author notes that Emz holds up against assassins better than most controllers.
