Gem Grab draft guide
How to pick and ban for Gem Grab in Brawl Stars Ranked: how the mode is won, the current map pool, what each map type rewards and which brawlers stand out.
How Gem Grab works
Gems spawn from a mine in the middle of the map. When a team holds ten or more gems, and more than the enemy, a countdown starts; if they keep the lead until it ends, they win. A brawler who gets knocked out drops every gem they carry, so the gem carrier's survival matters more than their damage.
Current Ranked map pool
Of the four Gem Grab maps in the current Ranked pool, two are closed and two are medium.
| Map | Type |
|---|---|
| Double Swoosh | Closed |
| Hard Rock Mine | Medium |
| Gem Fort | Medium |
| Undermine | Closed |
Drafting for Gem Grab
The map type decides a lot here. Closed maps have lots of walls and short sightlines. Point-blank burst damage is at its strongest here, while brawlers whose damage is fixed at range underperform. Medium maps mix cover with open lanes. Fixed ranged damage is strong here, and point-blank burst loses much of its value.
Because the pool mixes types, the same Gem Grab draft can look very different on Double Swoosh and on Hard Rock Mine. Always pick the map in the assistant before you trust a suggestion.
Every Gem Grab draft needs someone to carry the gems. The assistant tracks gem carriers as their own role, and a lineup without one has to hand the job to a brawler who isn't built for it.
The pick order still applies on top of all this: a strong, safe brawler first, the missing role on the double pick, and counters for picks 4 to 6. The Ranked draft guide walks through each slot.
